Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers based on real usage and common mistakes.

    Do QR codes expire?

Static codes do not expire. If you use a short link or dynamic service, its policy may affect availability.

    What size should I print?

For typical viewing distance, 2.5–3 cm minimum. Increase for longer distances or outdoor signage.

How long can the URL be?

Longer URLs make denser codes, which are harder to scan. Prefer short, readable links.

Should I use a short URL?

Only from trusted providers. Some scanners flag unknown short links; use your own domain if possible.

    Why won’t it scan?

Low contrast, no quiet zone, or reflective surfaces are common causes. Adjust and test.

    Can I add a logo?

Yes, keep the logo small and raise error correction to Q or H.

    What is error correction?

It allows scanning even if the code is partially damaged or covered.

    Is my data uploaded?

No. Codes are generated in your browser; we don’t send your content to our servers.

    How do I track scans?

Use a URL with analytics parameters (UTM) or a page you control and measure visits.

Can I edit the destination later?

Static QR codes can’t change. For changes, link to a page you control and update that page.

    Which colors are best?

Dark foreground on light background. Avoid inverted or low-contrast palettes.

Is it safe to encode personal data?

Avoid sensitive information. Use a secure form or authenticated page instead.
